Creating Memorable Experiences
Spin Master is a leading global children's entertainment company, creating exceptional play experiences through its three creative centres: Toys, Entertainment and Digital Games. I worked closely with their marketing agency on creating custom unboxing experiences delivered to influencers to help promote new product launches and marketing initiatives.
Monster Jam
In 2022 Monster Jam broke a Guinness World Record for the largest toy truck ramp drop.
I worked with Spin Master on designing a viral worthy influencer mailer that was sent out to compliment the World-Record breaking stunt and encourage at home engagement. Each kit came with Monster Jam toys and gear, along with a box that transformed into a miniature version of the iconic ramp used in the stunt. Recipients reenacted their own challenge and shared the resulting carnage across social media.
Gund
For this mailer it was important that the unboxing experience was memorable and interactive for both toddlers and their parents.
On the inside of the box I came up with a design that mimicked the idea of a “doll house” complete with a living room, kitchen and bedroom. Each kit came with crayons- allowing the recipient to color and customize their own space. This encouraged the idea of upcycling the box for additional playtime, rather than just tossing it after the gift was received. Each “Gund” animal also came with a customizable birth certificate-creating a unique keepsake.
League of Legends
This mailer was created to help promote the new collectable toy collab by Spin Master and Riot Games.
It was sent out to gamers and influencers on Twitch and Youtube, dropping just in time for the Arcane series on Netflix. The box design draws inspiration from the Hextech Chest, which is part of the gameplay reward system in the series and features a neon glow detail upon opening to help give it that “wow” factor.
Pixobitz
For this kit the client wanted to play with color and pattern to really make it pop. Keeping the front of the box relatively minimal, the inside is full of Pixo-inspired artwork to help excite the young creators receiving this kit. Pixofy your imagination with PixoBitz!
